Pénombre

The unknown is at the core of Tatiana’s painting process, where she seeks to capture the unpredictable accidents of the material without intention, driven only by an emotional energy that predates physical contact with the work. 

This "not-knowing" is inseparable from the unnameable that the painting seeks to make perceptible. The visual, sensual, and bodily experience that painting offers is an encounter with the unknown, beyond meaning—it's an experience of abandonment, silence, flesh, strangeness, anxiety, and desire.
